Social Responsibility and the Environment

Foremost Group takes its social and environmental responsibilities very seriously.

Social Responsibility

Following a year of research we have now been able to provide each of our shareholders with a handbook outlining the company’s primary areas of CSR, the actions it has taken in each of these areas and those which we plan to take in the near future. For your copy please contact public relations

An example of our dedication to the well-being of our local communities is the funding of a new primary school just half a mile from the site of our plant at Cashton. The Manifold Academy aims to be a paragon of excellence in the education sector. This will benefit both Foremost Group employees and the wider community in Investovia.

However, we did not stop there. We also provided substantial funding for a new town hall – the Jack Hopkins Community Centre - to replace its dilapidated predecessor after it was deemed unfit for purpose.

Our employees also benefit directly with a “fair wage for a fair day’s work” attitude taken not only in Europe and North America, but also across every continent we work in. At no stage do we pay less than the minimum wage of the countries in which we work and generally we pay more. Furthermore, we have been universally praised for our innovative “End of Work” project which has seen Foremost Group fund sporting and recreational facilities for its workers to enjoy during their leisure time.

Corporate Governance

Foremost Group’s corporate governance structure includes a majority of independent directors in order to guarantee a balance between the powers of management and supervision. Foremost Group has been a pioneer in Investovia regarding transparency in executive remuneration and received an award in 2009 for our efforts.

Individual shareholders benefit from a dedicated communications team to cater to their varied information requirements.

Risk Management

To ensure all our business divisions integrate social & environmental factors Foremost Group has formed a working group dedicated to emerging risks. Emerging risks such as climate change, nanotechnologies, cyber criminality, obesity, aspartame, GMO’s, and electromagnetic fields.

Over 40 risk managers and risk experts are responsible for quantifying and qualifying the potential cost of catastrophic exposure for the Group, to ensure these risks. Their mission is also to encourage the exchange of best practice s and expertise to ensure that underwriting policies are adapted to emerging risks.
